Operation LAMB is our community outreach program to help intellectually and physically disabled children. Sometimes it is referred to as the Tootsie Roll project because we give away thousands of Tootsie Rolls to draw attention to our program.
Why “Operation LAMB?” we are often asked. It comes from the bible, “inasmuch as you have done to the Least among my brethren, you have done unto me.”
Father Lawson Council 11103 in Pinehurst has participated in this community program since its inception in 1993. We are proud to say that our efforts have resulted in tens of thousands of dollars and millions of smiles to our LAMB Brethren. Funds from this program go directly to provide biannual activities for local disabled children and this is supplemented with Christmas and birthday gifts for all through our Adopt-A Child program. Cash supplements are also provided to the special education teachers in our area schools.

The Adopt-A-Child program is a Sponsor only "Christmas Gift" program to 8-9 local Exceptional Children classrooms, where Sacred Heart parishioners, in conjunction with each classroom teacher's input, purchase a student's wish gift! A Brother Knight is assigned a classroom, arranges for a volunteer sponsor to be paired-up with a student and purchases the gift. Then on a pre-arranged date, the Brother-in-Charge of the classroom delivers the gifts to their school's teacher who in turn hands each student their gift.
