TEEN CHORUS
This ensemble is intended for Middle and High School singers in grades 6 through 12. They rehearse Sundays from 11:50 AM - 12:20 PM. These singers explore a variety of musical styles, from chant to canons to traditional choral music. They also study our liturgical music and the process of cantoring. The Teens sing alongside the Chancel Choir for bimonthly Sunday Masses and other special observances.CHILDREN’S CHOIR
The Children’s Choir is intended for young singers aged 2nd through 5th grade. They rehearse Sundays from 12:20 PM - 1:00 PM. These eager singers learn basic singing techniques and an introduction to reading music. They sing at bimonthly Saturday Evening Masses and during holidays and special occasions with the other choirs. All children who would like to sing are welcome.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
We encourage individuals of any age who are interested in lending their talents to our ministry to reach out if they would like to join our pool of talented volunteers. These musicians occasionally accompany Masses alongside solo cantors or one of the choral ensembles. They have also been featured at weekend Masses and special Holy Days. Instrumentalists of all backgrounds (woodwind, string, percussion, brass) are welcome to contact the Director of Choirs and Director of Music to schedule auditions.CANTORS
Cantors lead congregational singing at weekend Masses and on Holy Days. These are a talented pool of auditioned individuals, often with prior cantor/solo experience at Sacred Heart or another parish. Basic music reading skills are important. Additional training can be offered. Attendance of most choral rehearsals is also required.
Separate Cantor Registration Form submission is due at the time of a scheduled one-on-one audition with the choir director and organist.
