Sacred Heart Parish has proudly been an integral part of the Family Promise of Moore County Program for many years. 
 
 Family Promise of Moore County, located at 400 Saunders Boulevard, Aberdeen, is a nonprofit agency dedicated to alleviating homelessness in Moore County, North Carolina.  Assistance is provided in partnership with local church congregations and organizations, a Board of Trustees and staff. They are a 16-bed homeless shelter providing services to women and their families.
 
Sacred Heart supports the program with funds and with VOLUNTEERS.  Our Parish will be hosting once again from MARCH 23 – MARCH 26. The dates for the rest of the year are: Aug. 24-27 and Nov. 9-12.

We hope that you will be able to assist us on one of these dates as: 
 (1) Over Night Guests - This is easy.   Arrive at 8:00 PM.  You have a private bedroom and bath.  All adults must be in bed before 10:00. Children are in bed earlier. You make sure the doors are locked. You set the alarm code at 10:00. You have restful sleep. You release the alarm code at 6:00 AM and go home.
 (2) Meal Preparers: Bring a meal for the families and evening hosts before 5:00 p.m. on your scheduled day;
 (3) Money donors: needed for purchasing breakfast and lunch foods and for other necessary household expenses.  Please make checks payable to Sacred Heart Church and mail to Louise Kennedy, 11 Kilbride Drive, Pinehurst, NC 28374.

Due to the generosity of many of our parishioners, we are able to donate funds to the Shelter to help defray the cuts to our guests SNAP Benefits, the rise of their health care insurance and gas to get to work. Our donation will help those in the Shelter and those who have recently transferred to a new apartment from falling backwards after all their hard work to move forward to a new life. They are appreciative and thankful to Sacred Heart for our prayers and support!

Documentary on Homelessness to Benefit Family Promise From the Director's Desk - Susan Bellew 
I just watched the trailer for this movie, and I encourage you to watch it as well and if so moved, purchase a ticket to watch the movie virtually. Not only will you be supporting Family Promise, but you will also be gaining a better knowledge of what homeless people in our country must endure.

The NO ADDRESS documentary focuses on homelessness in Columbia, South Carolina. It depicts the criminalization of homelessness and how communities across the country can implement proven practical solutions to address this epidemic.
