What: Beautifies the Sanctuary
When: Friday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass
Tasks include:
- Clean and replenish the 9 holy water fonts located at the church doors.
- When necessary, clean and refill the holy water container and ensure it is blessed by one of our priests/deacons.
- Remove the burned-out votive candles and replace with new votive candles by the statues in the church.
- Organize the church books in the pews and discard random trash left behind.
- Dust and dry mop the Altar and dust the Adoration chapel.
- Wash and iron the purificator linens (small altar cloths) used during each Mass. (The women who volunteer to do the linens are required to do them every other month (six times a year).
As a volunteer, you will be assigned to a team who meets approximately 12 times a year. You will also be assigned a specific task to do and are not required to perform everything. Sometimes, however, more help is needed in one area over another. The entire process should take you less than 1 (one) hour.
Schedule is released twice a year (December and July). If you cannot make it on your teams date, no problem, simply notify the Ministry Head.
We are constantly in need of new volunteers. It’s a fun, easy way to meet new people and also do God’s work. Thank you!
