  • Christmas Meal or Gift
    Christmas Meal or Gift
If you are aware of a person or family who lives alone and would appreciate a meal or Christmas goodies, please let us know. If you are willing to provide the above to a person or family, please email Faith Formation. We would ask the donor to deliver the food to the recipient the week before Christmas. If you have children, please make them part of this gift. Last Christmas a Sacred Heart couple took a meal to an elderly gentleman. He was in acute distress, the couple arranged emergency care. The parishioner passed away the next day. Later, in the Spring, his daughter who lives in Chicago wrote “I am so grateful that my father received a visit and care in his last days.” This is the spirit of the Jesus we follow.

With grateful praise, the Sacred Heart Youth Group, EDGE, along with our parents, would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to our first ever Bake Sale! We thank Father Forbes for his support, to our youth minister, Aaron Hartley for his assistance, The Women of Sacred Heart for their baked goods donations, to Mary Flynn for donating her time and talent with her generous prayer rock table, and most especially to everyone who purchased and donated money! Our monetary success will help ensure our youth will be going to camp this summer, and we are ever so appreciative. We are in awe and astonishment of the love, support, and encouragement we received. Words don't seem to convey our message properly, but with grateful, humble hearts, THANK YOU!!

  • Nearing Death Request
    Nearing Death Request
Congratulations to our Pastoral Associate, Dr. Jim Helton! He recently completed his yearlong post-graduate studies in Catholic Clinical (Medical) Ethics at the Pellegrino Center for Biomedical Ethics at Georgetown University. Jim is continuing to work with them on ethical issues and he would like your participation. He is looking at end-of-life issues and he would like to hear from you if you or your family has had any nearing death experiences. These are events or behaviors that people have as they come closer to death such as seeing or talking to deceased loved ones, telling you they have accepted their death, and similar interactions. These are different from near-death experiences in which a person has technically died but been resuscitated. Jim would like you to call him, write him, or make an appointment with him to discuss your experiences.
